Goodbye gum- you've seen your final day at the Meeker house.
I know what you are thinking:
Awesomest. Haircut. Ever.
(And just as the reverse
mohawk was starting to fill in.
See previous post if you don't know what I'm talking about.)
Who votes we just shave him bald?

OH MY GOSH!!! So sad! But his reverse mohawk started fillling in SUPER fast...So maybe this will, too! He looks so sad about his little bald spot...poor boy! Did he stick it in there himself?
The pictures are great! They tell the whole story.
I am so sorry! But I can't stop laughing. His little pouty face is so cute! My kids love the gum too. Luckly we haven't had any major hair cuts result yet.
My goodness that picture of David being so sad - is precious. I just want to hug him. His eyes just melt me! We banned gum from our house too while the kids were little. My vote is to shave it a little bit....but give him a hug first from Grandma Nell! I remember when Catheryn twisted a comb into her long, long hair. She was probably 4 and I was so mad, I sent her to the neighbor's house to have Dody work on it for hours to untangle the comb. She did, so we didn't have to cut Ryn's hair, but I couldn't deal with it - so I'm glad for nice neighbors!!
oh erin...i love it. seriously i laughed pretty hard. and i think you just shave it! boys hair grows so fast anyway! good luck with whatever you choose. who did that to him anyway?
P.S. - Next time, if there is a next time, put peanut butter in his hair! The oil in the peanut butter helps release the gum from the hair! It really does work! Then you wouldn't have had to cut it out! Poor Davy! You should have called me first!! :)
Okay so to clarify- David put the gum in his own hair and then realized that he was going to be in trouble and tried to pull it out. He is crying because it hurt. It was pulling on his scalp pretty hard. I have heard of the PB and ice to get out gum, but David isn't the most patient boy and he was pretty upset, so we opted for the bald spot. All in all, Nate and I thought the whole thing was pretty dang funny.
And yes, we will be shaving his hair quite short. And with as fast as it grows he'll be back to looking normal in a couple weeks.
shave him bald!!! i can't wait to see this in person on saturday. honestly, i think david will be the number #1 entertainer in this family for years to come!
I don't know - but those are the saddest little eyes I've ever seen... seriously - he must get away with everything just by looking at you like that!
That is so funny! And those pictures! The sad one with gum in the hair, and the happy one with a bald spot. Don't you love kids??!? :)
hahahahaha. oh my gosh. that made my day so much better. i think his haircut is classic. keep it for sure!!
Did you try peanut butter? Luke stuck a piece right in the front, and I was amazed that it actually came right out. Next time maybe.
Ben and I can seriously not stop laughing. We apologize for doing it at your expense-or Davids! But these pictures are priceless.
David is sooo adorable! I LOVE the pouty face & how he smiles with his bald spot. So cute! This will be so funny to look back on when he is older!
Aww I remember getting gum stuck in my hair when I was little. It was no fun.
i hate gum with a passion. For future reference, olive oil works best.
Every kid needs to go through having a bald spot at least once, or they are robbed of essential character building experiences.
That face he made was just so pathetic. I hope you gave him ice cream or something after you got the gum out. Oh wait, that just reinforces the getting into trouble... I guess I am just a sucker from those sad faces they make. you should see James at work sometime.
Poor David--Hopefully he will be an amazing teenager.
He is just so cute!
